Interstellar Expands Production, Establishing Fifth ZERO Rocket Facility

Hokkaido, Japan – Interstellar Technologies Inc. (“Interstellar”), a leading space infrastructure company dedicated to addressing global challenges through space transportation and utilization, has opened a new office in Obihiro, Hokkaido, in October 2024. This new location marks the company’s third branch office, following Tokyo and Fukushima, and its fifth site overall, which also includes the Taiki headquarters in Hokkaido and the Muroran Institute of Technology research facility. As Interstellar accelerates the production of its orbital class launch vehicle ZERO, this expansion will significantly enhance manufacturing capabilities and talent acquisition efforts.

New Office Space Designed to Accommodate Up to 50 Employees

The Obihiro Branch was established to support the increased production of ZERO components and address the growing need for office space at the Taiki headquarters. Renovations to convert a former logistics warehouse into the new facility began in January 2024. The first floor of the Obihiro Branch serves as a production hub, where components such as engines, structural parts, and fuselage parts are assembled and stored. This floor also features a clean room for assembling critical parts like turbopumps and valves. The second floor accommodates office space for up to 50 employees, with around 20 members from the propulsion and turbopump teams having already begun working there as of October 2024.
